# The "I" and the "We" *A poem by Kerry Turner*
Does the singular know the plural? Does the different know the same? Does the object know the subject? Does enjoyment feel the pain?
Does the drop know it’s an ocean? Does the leaf know it’s a tree? Does the word know it’s a story? Does the cell know it is me?
Does the answer know the question? Does the padlock know the key? Does the future know the present? Does the I know it is me?
Does the nothing know the something Does the one know infinity? Does the second know eternal? Does the I know it is We?
.
I like this poem. It leads me to reexamine the mechanism of metasystemic relationships. Meta concepts. Meta language. Meta systems. Longer wavelengths. Indirect actions.
Necessity for participation in adjacent systems, while investing in balancing awareness of three (not just two) levels at all times.
